What is Tearstable™ Technology?
Acuvue Oasys Max has a new technology called Tearstable™ that combats dry eye from less blinking. This technology spreads the lens’s wetting agent across the entire surface of the contact while also pulling your natural tears into the lens. Tearstable™ keeps your eyes moist even if you spend all day staring at screens.
What is Optiblue™ Light Filter?
Acuvue Max 1-Day lenses also contain a blue light filter similar to the monthly Biofinity Energys contact. According to Acuvue, this new technology reduces light scatter by 20%, halos by 30%, starbursts by 23%. However, it is also important to note that blue light technology is still in its infancy, and there isn’t strong evidence that it is effective.
What prescriptions is Acuvue Max available in?
Acuvue Max 1-Day is available from -12.00 to +8.00, with two base curve options: 8.5 and 9.0. These are the same options as the current Acuvue Oasys 1-Day, which makes sense since they are the same base material. This also means if you have a prescription for Acuvue Oasys 1-Day, you can use it to purchase Acuvue Max 1-Day.

Is Acuvue Oasys Max available in toric for Astigmatism?

Yes! Acuvue Max Multifocal available in powers -9.00 to +6.00, with three add options: low, mid, and high. These are similar to the parameters for Acuvue Moist Multifocal. Is Acuvue Oasys Max available in multifocal for astigmatism?
Not yet, but Acuvue filed with the FDA for this product. Expect it in a year or two. This will be the first daily multifocal for astigmatism lens on the market. It will be popular, but likely expensive. In the meantime, there are a number of great monthly options for toric multifocal lenses.
